Case Study: Climate Impact Partners.

 

In May 2021, two of the most well respected and experienced organisations operating in the voluntary carbon market - ClimateCare and Natural Capital Partners – merged, to form Climate Impact Partners.

Climate Impact Partners delivers solutions for action on climate. Together with the world’s leading companies and quality project partners they will reduce 1 billion tonnes of CO2 to transform the global economy, improve health and livelihoods and restore a thriving planet.

The work.

Following the 2021 merger, Climate Impact Partners began planning for a new website, which would result in the two previous brands’ sites being retired.

Blue Circle SEO were asked to work in conjunction with the organisation’s chosen third-party agency, to provide SEO-centric guidance and support on:

•    Domain amalgamation / migration
•    Technical SEO
•    Content migration
•    Information architecture
•    User acceptance testing (UAT)
•    Ongoing SEO health checks and performance reporting

The results.

We worked closely with the Climate Impact Partners team – both in the UK and United States - over several months prior to the new site’s launch, to help ensure a smooth transition from old to new.

A conscious decision was taken to not migrate several hundred pages from the old sites. Despite the loss of some organic traffic as a result, the new Climate Impact Partners site now enjoys significantly higher levels of traffic than its most successful predecessor (climatecare.org).

Since launch, the site has gone from strength to strength and we have also recently provided SEO support during a successful roll-out of French and German language versions.
